I hit over 20,000 words today. Now I have less than 30,000 left to write. It's a good feeling.
When I first set out to do this back in October (I signed up on Halloween), I wasn't sure how it'd go. I'd never kept track of my writing to see how much I wrote, but I'm pretty sure I'd never written 50,000 words in a month before.
But now, even though I am a little behind on the word count, it looks very doable.
It makes me excited for the end. My manuscript's first draft should be done by then (of course, I only estimated that it needs about 50,000 words; it really could need more).
Even now, it really feels as if it's coming together. I don't know if it's Nano, or if the idea has just finally had enough time to float around in my brain, but I'm so excited to be working on this story.
I hope, whether you are working on Nano or you're just writing at your own pace, that your story grabs you with a thrill every time you write another sentence. It's one of the greatest feelings in the world.
And whether you're looking at the last 30,000 or still working on the first 100, keep writing.
Today's Total: 1,164
Total So Far: 20,829
Left to Write: 29,171
